Green-cheeked conures form groups of around 10 to 20 birds and tend to roost in treetops. Larger groups are found in areas with more abundant food sources. They have a varied diet consisting of seeds, vegetables, berries, nuts, flowers, and fruit. Green-cheeked conures build their nests in hollow trees, where they lay 4 to 6 eggs per clutch. The incubation period lasts approximately 25 days.
 
Green-cheeked conures can live for around 30 years.
